Abstract

Insurance enterprises increasingly recognize artificial intelligence as essential for competitive advantage, yet most organizations struggle to progress beyond fragmented pilot implementations toward systematic, enterprise-scale AI deployment. This article introduces the Enterprise AI Stack, an integrated architectural framework combining technical infrastructure with organizational capability development to enable scalable AI transformation. The framework addresses critical implementation barriers through six interconnected layers encompassing data foundations, AI development toolkits, user-facing applications, operational governance, value management systems, and comprehensive risk controls. The framework's distinctive contribution lies in treating organizational transformation and technical architecture as unified design challenges requiring coordinated solutions. Implementation methodology includes phased deployment strategies, change management protocols, and continuous value measurement systems that ensure sustainable AI capability development while maintaining regulatory compliance and risk management standards. The article demonstrates how insurance organizations can achieve measurable improvements in operational efficiency, decision quality, and customer experience while developing strategic capabilities that provide sustainable competitive advantage. The Enterprise AI Stack enables the transformation of AI from experimental cost centers to strategic value drivers for sustainable business growth within the insurance industry.
